Third Annual Animal Art Auction

Nashville Zoo Third Annual Animal Art Auction, 'Wild Impressions' was held at Mercy Lounge Ballroom on July 27th. The proceeds from the Auction will benefit The Protected Areas Conservation Trust .

PACT is an environmental trust fund that plays a role in the conservation, preservation and management of Belize's natural resources and protected areas. This Event was very well attended and a win-win situation for all...PACT and the folks from the Nashville Area that came out in support of this Event.

There were 67 Animal Art Paintings, 3 photos and 5 Ostrich Egg art beautifully displayed for the folks attending to view and bid on. Most of the Animal Art Paintings were framed to compliment the painting. (there were only a few that were not yet framed)

The Nashville Zoo inhabitants gave the folks and art collectors, attending this benefit, colorful, interesting and unique one of a kind art to enjoy viewing and to bid on. The Cougar's Paw Prints, the feather and feet art by the Mccaw's, the Elephant Art, the works of the Red Panda and the Meerkats were among some of my favorites. It was difficult for me to choose any favorites, as all were excellent and any of the pieces of Art Work would be a joy to own and display.

One thing that I found to be a fun plus was the Animal Art book marks for sale at $2.00 each. If a person did not win the Art piece or pieces they were bidding on, a small piece of art could be taken home via the bookmarks.

We were not only entertained by enjoying the Animal Art but by some very talented local singer/song writers.
Bob Mogan (who is a Nashville Zoo Carpenter) & Steve Libby and Joel Shewmake. All three are talented young men...
Scott Barrier and Erin O'Brien (fun music from this talented twosome.)
Rick Ferrell and Jennifer Hicks (Nashville Star 2). Separate they are terrific but together they are Bluefield and compliment each other's talent ....They just sparkle..

Door Prizes and food are always a hit at any Benefit and this was no exception. Local Business gave freely to help make this a very special night. There was a variety of good food...Something for everyone's taste. The Door Prizes were some of the best/nicest I have seen donated for any function/event. When it was time for the drawings folks had hopes that it would be their ticket number.

The Zoo's own, Miss Tori Mason was the M/C for the evening and kept everything moving along smoothly. She and the rest of the folks who put this Event together did an excellent job. They all deserve a big pat on the back for a job well done. This was a huge undertaking and they were up to the challenge. I am already looking forward to the Event next year.
